Akron Public Schools serves around 30,000 elementary students across 31 schools in 2024–25, with a 16:1 student–teacher ratio and 86% minority enrollment. The district earned a 2.5-star state rating, ranking second among Ohio's “Big 8” urban districts in performance index and third in third-grade reading proficiency.
