The state of Ohio has a solid educational structure in terms of the quality and organization of education for middle school students. Ohio has 615 school districts and an average student-teacher ratio of 17 to 1. These factors create a learning environment in which all students have a fair wage. Students enrolled in public school systems throughout the state average approximately $15,591 per pupil, which indicates that the state is investing heavily into education. According to data from NAEP 2024, the state performance on the 8th Grade test scores in Reading and Math is in the top 12 to 15 of all states in the United States. Furthermore, Ohio five-star ratings of school report cards and special Middle Childhood (grades 4-9) Licensure program both contribute towards maintaining the quality of the state middle-level programs, making Ohio home to some of the best middle schools in Ohio.
