Massachusetts has been recognized nationwide as being the best in public education, with the highest NAEP (National Assessment of Educational Progress) scores for math and reading, along with a 90% graduation rate for high school students. When combined with a teacher-to-student ratio of less than 12 to 1 and the majority of its teachers having advanced degrees throughout the state, the academic performance of Massachusetts is outstanding. The MassEducate program has helped provide free access to community colleges for all citizens. Boston Latin School is a prime example of 300 years of outstanding education in Massachusetts.
