Montpelier, Vermont, is the smallest state capital in the U.S. It is in central Vermont along the Winooski River and has about 8,000 residents. Montpelier is a wonderful place for families to live because it has a strong civic culture, an arts scene, and a small-town feel. The Montpelier Roxbury School District provides elementary education. It has well-known public elementary schools with high academic standards, experienced teachers, and strong community involvement. Families can also send their kids to private and independent schools in the area. The school system puts a lot of emphasis on doing well in school, learning about social and emotional issues, and doing things outside and in the arts. Montpelier is a wonderful place for elementary school and family life. The neighborhoods are safe, parents are involved, and the schools always do well.
