Vermont has a highly successful graduation rate for students due to its small learning environments and low student to teacher ratio. The 179 high schools in that state have approximately 12 students per teacher which provides an opportunity for the schools to offer students a personalized education. The academic success of the students in Vermont has improved after the impact of COVID-19. Vermont ranks 23rd out of 50 states for student achievement and will continue to improve upon its standards through research-based reform and equity-based policies. The top-performing high schools in Vermont are recognized for their high graduation rates and for providing individualized support for their students, such as personalized instruction that provides students with an opportunity to demonstrate increased levels of achievement over time.
