About Angela Robles
Angela Robles is a college admissions strategist with more than two decades of experience inside higher education at institutions such as the University of California, Los Angeles and Arizona State University. She now serves as Academic College Counselor at IMG Academy, where she advises student athletes from over fifty countries through the United States college admissions process while balancing academics, athletics and family finances. As founder of LANI Planner and an independent consultant, she specializes in systematic planning tools and aligned writing frameworks that help students move from overwhelmed to oriented, from performing to aligned and from anxious to ready.?
Her approach centers on identity, values and authentic voice rather than gaming the system. She developed the LANI framework and Carousel Method essays to help students write in a way that sounds like them and not like everyone else. Angela has guided families in the middle-income gap who often earn too much for need-based aid yet cannot access premium counseling, with students admitted to ASU, University of Florida, New York University, Columbia, UCLA and other competitive institutions with strategic financial aid packages. Her prior roles include Assistant Director for ASU Explore Program, Academic Success Coach at ASU, Academic Undergraduate Counselor at UCLA and twelve years as faculty and instructional coach at University of Phoenix, where she taught more than four hundred courses and trained instructors in effective teaching.
