About Abram Erickson
Abram Erickson is an admissions counselor at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois, where he has guided prospective students and families through the college search process since August 2025. He is passionate about Christ-centered higher education and cherishes the opportunity to participate in God's work in the lives of college students. Before joining the admissions team at Wheaton, Abram spent two years at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts, where he served as Director of Orientation from June 2024 to July 2025 and Director of Student Activities from August 2023 to July 2025. As Director of Orientation, he led the campus-wide effort to welcome over 400 first-year and transfer students and their families for a five-day program designed to initiate belonging, facilitated leadership development for over 50 student leaders focused on hospitality and service, and partnered with Admissions to ensure steady communication from students' decision to attend until their arrival on campus. As Director of Student Activities, he developed and implemented a strategic vision for programming that promotes belonging and holistic development, advised the Student Government Association and Campus Activities Board with over 30 student leaders, oversaw a six-figure budget, and liaised with campus departments to lead student-centered initiatives for Homecoming, Commencement and Christmas at Gordon. He also served as Residence Director from August 2023 to May 2024, mentoring six Resident Assistants, responding to crises, facilitating student conduct meetings and referring students to appropriate resources. Earlier, he worked at Wheaton College as a Graduate Resident Adviser from July 2021 to May 2023, a Sports Information Assistant from August 2018 to September 2021, where he announced over 30 events annually as lead play-by-play announcer for the Wheaton Thunder Sports Network, and an Intramural Sports Staff from March 2018 to September 2021.?
Abram holds a Master of Arts in Higher Education and Student Development from Wheaton College, where he graduated with a 3.97 GPA and completed a thesis on student-athlete perceptions of holistic development at Wheaton College. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a concentration in Media Studies, a minor in Biblical and Theological Studies and a certificate in Journalism from Wheaton College with a 3.94 GPA. He was involved in the Orientation Committee, campus tours, Intramural Sports Staff, Varsity Track and Field, broadcasting and journalism during his undergraduate years. Growing up in West Michigan, he came to Wheaton as a first-year student in 2017, where God met him in the college search process despite his fears and uncertainty. His time at Wheaton was characterized by authentic community, challenging liberal arts education, deepened faith through worship and discipleship, and extracurricular opportunities that shaped his character and developed his leadership.
