About Vivian Jensen
Vivian Jensen has worked as a college counselor for the past twenty years, guiding high school students through the complex journey of discovering "What do I want to do for the rest of my life?" After receiving her College and Career Counselor training from the University of California, Berkeley, she has dedicated her career to supporting students from diverse backgrounds as they navigate college admissions and life planning.
Vivian served as Assistant College Counselor at San Francisco Waldorf High School and worked extensively with first-generation students through a local nonprofit at San Rafael High School and Fusion Academy. She is currently in her fourth year at San Marin, where she continues to provide personalized, student-centered guidance. Her approach combines thorough planning—from transcript and test score review to essay coaching and final decision support—with genuine care for individual goals and priorities of each student.
Clients praise Vivian for her kindness, reliability, strong belief in the abilities of students, and constructive feedback that builds confidence. Whether working with students applying to competitive universities like Stanford, UCLA, UC Berkeley, and Reed College, or guiding first-generation students through the UC and CSU systems, she offers a roadmap to success grounded in encouragement and practical strategy.
