The Sage Valley area of Gillette, Wyoming, is home to Sage Valley Junior High School, which is at 1101 Wind River Drive. The school is for students in grades 7 through 9. There are about 790 students enrolled. There is about one teacher for every 17 students. The student–teacher ratio is about 17:1. 58% of people can read well. There are 51% men and 49% women in the group. The school has a stable and organized environment where students are encouraged to take on more responsibility and stay focused as they move through junior high. Most homes near the school cost between $275,000 and $430,000. These homes can be found in new subdivisions or on long-established residential streets. Parents often say that teachers are clear when they talk to them and that they like how the school stresses organization and being ready for school. Sage Valley Junior High School is working hard to become one of the best middle schools in Wyoming, even though its students' proficiency levels are a little below the state average.
