Mountaineer Middle School is on Price Street in Morgantown, which is a small city area. It serves 600 students in grades 6 through 8. There is a 13:1 student-teacher ratio. The academic results show that 54% of students are good at math and 62% are good at reading. There are 48% females and 52% males at the school. The school environment is very welcoming and helpful for all students. It is in the top 10% of all schools in the state when it comes to overall performance. Staff members work on building strong relationships to help students learn. The campus is the main academic center for the urban neighborhood around it. The school is also still committed to creating an environment where all students feel respected and encouraged to learn. Putting the most important skills first to get ready for the challenges of a world that is changing quickly. Actively looking for new ways to teach that work for different types of learners and take advantage of their unique intellectual strengths. Mountaineer Middle School is currently ranked #3 in West Virginia Middle Schools for 2026 by U.S. News & World Report. Mountaineer Middle School recently hosted middle school robotics teams for the Mountaineer VEX Robotics Competition at WVU.
