Rogers-Herr Middle is a public middle school in Durham, North Carolina. It is in a big city and serves students in grades 6–8. There are about 631 students at the school, and 43 full-time equivalent teachers and two full-time school counselors work there. This means that there is one teacher for every 15 students. The school has a full curriculum that includes core classes in math, English language arts, science, and social studies, as well as electives and enrichment programs. State and national data show that 62% of students are proficient or better in math and 67% are proficient or better in reading. Both of these numbers are higher than the state averages for North Carolina. There is a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds among the students. For example, 51% of the students are female and 49% are male, and 44% of the students are economically disadvantaged. The amount of money each student gets is in line with what Durham Public Schools usually gets. This money goes toward both student services and instructional programs. Rogers-Herr Middle School is a structured and supportive place to learn.

Being Updated
Rogers-Herr Middle School is getting a lot of attention for its new way of teaching! The Forest at Duke recently gave the school a $20,000 grant to use digital educational resources and technology to help students learn better in all subjects. This grant will help pay for subscriptions to educational websites like iEdPuzzle, Quizizz, Flocabulary, and Delta Math. This will keep students interested and help them remember what they learned in school. The school will also buy new chargers and digital display attachments to make the school community more connected and informed.
