Niu Valley Middle School in Honolulu, Hawaii recently held a number of events, such as the Friends of Niu Valley's School Dance, the Hawaii Kai Holiday Parade, the Science & Engineering Fair, and Winter Concerts for the Band, Orchestra, and Percussion Ensemble. The first Girls' Flag Football Team is also making waves, as are successful tournaments for Pickleball, Volleyball, and Football.

The school's dedication to getting involved in the community is clear from the Beach Cleanup by the Interact Club and the Garden Club's work with Kaiser High School's Key Club. The Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS) Store was also opened to encourage good behavior among students. Principal Jeffrey Shitaoka thanked families for their support and talked about how important it is for the school to create a safe and caring space. Niu Valley Middle School wants to create a supportive community, and they have events coming up like the Principal Talk Story session and the Parent Engage
