The theater department at Yankton High School recently won a superior rating at the 2026 South Dakota State One-Act Play Festival for its performance of "The Drowsy Professor." The school has also improved its technical education options thanks to a new Perkins Grant. This grant gave the welding and manufacturing programs better equipment so that they could better meet industry standards. The district is also celebrating its 150th anniversary with a number of community events. It has also opened a new "Trailhead Learning Center" to help young children move from one stage of school to the next.
