It is the only high school in the East Providence School District and has about 1,500 students, with a student-to-teacher ratio of about 14:1. It is known as one of the best schools because it has a lot of different academic paths. It offers Advanced Placement® classes, which 17% of students take. 40% of the students are minorities, and about 49% of them are considered to be economically disadvantaged. East Providence High School does well in school, with a 42% proficiency rate in reading and a 17% proficiency rate in math. To help students move forward, the school also organizes standard college entrance exams like the SAT and ACT. East Providence High School is still making the most of its award-winning, state-of-the-art building, which has a specialized greenhouse, a modern TV studio, and a 10-lane indoor track. The school's Career and Technical Education program recently added high-demand pathways in forensic science and pre-engineering. These pathways give students the chance to get hands-on professional certifications. The campus is also a community center for excellence; it recently hosted the regional "Townie" pride events and won several state-level awards in both girls' and boys' varsity sports.
