Red River High School

Red River High School is one of the best schools in North Dakota. It offers a great public education for students in grades 9–12. It is a major part of the Grand Forks Public Schools district and has a student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1, which means it serves almost 1,100 students. The school is known for being very academically challenging, with 39% of students taking Advanced Placement® classes. The school has a 29% minority enrollment and 20% of its students are considered economically disadvantaged. The school did very well in the 2025–2026 school year, with 40% of students being good at math and 58% being good at reading. The school is one of the best in the area because it has a good reputation in the community and spends about $15,920 per student. Recently, Red River High School held a ceremony to honor the winners of the Rider Idol 2026 competition. The best students will move on to the Grand Cities event in February. The campus has also made big improvements to its infrastructure, such as fixing the roof and getting ready for a new bus lease to make it easier for students to get to the upcoming Career Impact Academy. The fine arts department is also getting ready for its spring concert series, which will show off the musical skills of student groups to the community.
