Jonesboro, Arkansas, is a mid-sized city that is growing. As of 2025, it had an estimated population of about 83,800, making it the fifth-largest city in the state. It is located on Crowley's Ridge in northeast Arkansas. The city has a historic downtown, cultural venues, and a friendly community atmosphere. Jonesboro has a strong public school system for elementary school students. There are 15 public elementary schools that serve about 8,000 students. There are also private schools (four of them serve about 538 students), so families have more choices than just the public system.
