Sunghoon Kim

Sunghoon Kim is the founder, president and college admissions counselor at Pittsburgh Prep, the oldest independent educational institution in Pittsburgh focused on test preparation and college planning. He has taught since 1997 and has dedicated more than two decades to helping students unlock potential in academics, standardized tests and college admissions. His work blends powerful instruction with a supportive culture, so students gain confidence, build skills and achieve college-ready success.

Pittsburgh Prep uses a holistic approach that considers student goals, family concerns, and wider educational trends. Sunghoon co-teaches across programs, oversees curriculum and leads a team of expert educators who deliver high-impact instruction for students from many backgrounds. He also holds a certificate in Independent College Admissions Counseling, is an associate member of professional consultant associations and is active in national and Pennsylvania college admission counseling organizations.
