Ben Green

Ben Green is an Associate College Admission Counselor with over a decade of experience as a teacher, researcher, and college advisor. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley and his Master of Arts in Philosophy from UCLA, where he also studied French, ancient Greek, took courses at the UCLA School of Law, and served as a Teaching Associate for undergraduate classes. His interdisciplinary academic background and deep engagement with critical thinking, writing, and argumentation inform his approach to college advising.

Ben has worked as a full-time college advisor for the past eight years and is especially passionate about helping students navigate the complexities of the admissions process. Essays—whether brainstorming, outlining, or polishing—are his favorite part of the work. He also enjoys working with younger students (grades 8–10), helping them identify subjects and activities they are passionate about and discover colleges they will love.

For five years, Ben served as Head Counselor at one of the largest college consulting firms in the Bay Area, where he worked with over 1,000 students from 8th through 12th grade, helping them build their résumés, find their passions, and apply successfully to college. He has also spent three years as a high school college counselor and has taught philosophy and English to more than 500 students over the past decade. Ben has experience with all types of applications and essays, including the University of California system, BS/MD programs, and United Kingdom schools such as Oxford and Cambridge. His students have gained acceptances to UC Berkeley, MIT, Emory, Brown, Swarthmore, Cornell, Caltech, Northwestern, UCLA, and many more. He is a member of the National Association for College Admissions Counseling.
