Salt Lake City, the state capital and largest city with more than 200,000 people, is set between the Wasatch and Oquirrh mountains. It has a unique mix of city life and quick access to outdoor activities like skiing. The city has a politically open and accepting culture, which is different from the rest of the state. It also has a large LGBT community. There are a lot of great public and private schools in the area, and many of them get high Niche grades. For example, Rowland Hall is a private school that gets an A+ grade, and Butler Middle is a public school that gets an A grade overall. The state is ranked #4 in the country for K-12 and higher education performance, and school systems focus on academic excellence.
