Utah has developed a comprehensive middle school program based on data and a proven structure to help each student succeed academically and emotionally. The state has over 890 public middle schools that rank highly nationwide; combined with a variety of charter and private school options, there are multiple opportunities for parents to find a quality middle school in Utah. Additionally, the Utah State Board of Education has provided resources to help families make decisions about schooling through assessments such as RISE and Utah Aspire Plus. Strengthening partnerships between families and schools during transition times is one of the State Board of Education primary focuses. Further improvements to educate middle school students have been made through specialized programmes, trauma-informed practices, and a high level of community involvement.
