Aubry Bend Middle School is located at 12501 W. 175th Street in the Overland Park area of Kansas City, Kansas. The school serves students in grades 6–8 and has an enrollment of about 809. Classrooms operate with a student–teacher ratio of about 15:1, based on the latest NCES figures. Around 54% of students meet math proficiency and approximately 46% meet reading proficiency on state assessments, which is above the Kansas averages for similar schools. The student body is approximately 52% male and 48% female. Aubry Bend strikes a balance between core academic standards and giving students chances to work together and discover things on their own. This helps them build academic habits and confidence. The homes in the area usually cost between $300,000 and $580,000, which is about the same as homes in mature neighborhoods in Overland Park and northwest Olathe that are close to parks, community centers, and public transportation. Parents frequently say that the school's well-planned framework and after-school activities make students comfortable, and thus, they get the necessary support while they are adapting to the increasingly more difficult coursework. Aubry Bend Middle School, known for its strong academic performance and a culture that encourages student engagement, is recognized as one of the top middle schools in Kansas.
