Pennsylvania has distinguished itself as a leader in education with rigorous academic standards that have earned it the 5th best ranking for public education across the country. Pennsylvania also has the 2nd best graduation rate in the country, with 96% of students graduating from high school within four years. Students from Pennsylvania consistently perform well on Advanced Placement exams, and have a strong percentage of students who have taken the ACT and SAT, providing great opportunities for graduates from its high schools. Pennsylvania also has several nationally ranked colleges and universities, including Julia R. Masterman High School.
