Independence High School just won the Platinum Implementation Award for its Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) program. This is the state's highest award for promoting a good campus culture. The school's Career Technical Education Center (CTEC) is also helping students get ready for the real world by giving them access to the newest tools and resources for their field and high-tech facilities. Also, projects run by students, like LISTOS Gives Back, have raised a lot of money for cancer research in the area.
