As of the 2025–2026 school year, Thunder Mountain High School will become the district's centralized middle school hub. This will make sure that all students in Juneau have access to a learning environment that is both resource-rich and unified. The campus is currently making improvements to its facilities so that its high school labs and athletic spaces can be used by younger students. This will give them access to advanced science and technology resources that are usually only available to high school students.
