Being Updated
At Adventure Elementary School, people were cheering in the hallways recently, but it wasn't for a play or a competition. A 9-year-old girl was honored in front of her whole school for doing something brave that saved a life. She jumped into action at an apartment pool last summer and saved a toddler who was having a seizure in the water.
On a special assembly day, Sioux Falls Fire Rescue gave her a "Citizens' Hero Award" for being so calm, caring, and brave. These are traits that made a lasting impression on her friends and community.
