Norman, Oklahoma, is south of Oklahoma City and has a culturally rich and college-town feel, thanks in part to the University of Oklahoma. The eighth-largest school district in the state is Norman Public Schools. It has 17 elementary schools, four middle schools, and several high schools, and it serves more than 16,000 students. Six Norman North High School students have earned national recognition through the College Board’s AP Capstone program for the 2024-25 school year. It always gets good grades and is in the top 20 percent of Oklahoma districts for reading and overall performance. Nine students from Norman High School received national recognition through the College Board's AP Capstone program on November 12, 2025.
