Lakewood Early Childhood Center, located in Lakewood, is one of the highest achieving Elementary Schools in New Jersey. Lakewood Early Childhood Center has Pre-K and Kindergarten students with a total enrollment of 236. Along with its rigorous academic programs, Lakewood provides individualized attention for all students by employing a student-teacher ratio of 5:1 and a total staff of 44 full-time teachers, which is much higher than the average across the district. Lakewood has a diverse student population that reflects much of the Phenix City School District, including 66% minority enrollment, 41% female and 59% male students, and 79% of all students being economically disadvantaged. Located in the Phenix City School District, Lakewood Early Childhood Center exemplifies early childhood education excellence while providing a supportive and nurturing environment for young children to learn, grow, and thrive, and serves as an example for the best Elementary Schools in New Jersey.
