Wake County Public School System is recommending a significant reassignment plan for the 2025-26 school year that includes the reassignment of some students from Scotts Ridge Elementary as the district opened new schools to handle growth.

The district approved enrollment caps on 22 elementary schools in 2025 to alleviate overcrowding which might impact Scotts Ridge and its zoning.

A teacher at Scotts Ridge was recognized as "Teacher of the Week" in June 2025 for exemplary work with students in the classroom and a high level of engagement with the community.
