Franklin Montessori is one of the more desirable Elementary Schools in Minnesota, and serves as a K-5 public magnet school, embodying all aspects of the Montessori philosophy. Franklin welcomes students into mixed-age classrooms, which promotes collaborative learning, strong social bonds and student ownership. Franklin schools approximately 170-190 students, and consistently outperforms the district and state averages in academic performance, as it reading proficiency averages around 75%-80%. Families enroll their children in structures that builds a strong foundation, works to develop a student independent spirit, provides a safe and supportive community and focuses on creative expression. The school prepares the whole child socially, emotionally, and academically. The staff is committed as a learning community to ensure students are prepared to maximize the experience of the school, which consistently ranks in the top 10% of Minnesota Elementary Schools.
