Hillcrest Elementary School, home of the Huskies, is a K–6 public school in District U-46 with around 492 students and a student-teacher ratio of approximately 19:1.The school prioritizes both academic and social-emotional learning, fostering a supportive environment where students' aspirations are nurtured.In demographic terms, about 77% of students are Hispanic, with a richly diverse student body overall.However, academic performance remains an area for growth—only 10–14% of students reach math proficiency, and 10% in reading, placing Hillcrest in the bottom 50% of Illinois schools.
