Acero Charter School – Esmeralda Santiago Campus recently garnered positive attention when Chicago Public Schools acquired the campus building via a long-term lease agreement. The decision ensures that the school can continue operating at its current location on W Cortez Street for the coming years as it prepares to transition into a district-managed CPS school in 2026. The campus also continues to strengthen its bilingual education programs through the “Bilingual Brillante” initiative developed in partnership with the University of Illinois at Chicago.
