Being the only state in the U.S. that has one statewide school district means all public schools within the state follow the same set of academic standards and have equal access to educational resources. All elementary schools in Hawaii have unique characteristics including academically strong programs, diverse multicultural student populations - as well as their use of Hawaiian language/culture-based teaching methods.
