About the Innovator

My name is Nirman, I am six years old and in grade 1. For my project, I created a "Happy Birthday" tune and display using a micro:bit toolkit. When you press button A, the micro:bit plays the "Happy Birthday" song using musical tones. Pressing button B shows the words "Happy Birthday," followed by a big heart, a small heart, and the number seven to show the age. I used music, tones, show strings, and icons in my project. I chose this project because it helps me with piano learning and lets me celebrate birthdays in a fun way!

Hello everyone! My name is Nirman, I am six years old and in grade 1. Today, I am excited to share my special project with you. I made a "Happy Birthday" tune and display using a micro:bit toolkit. I wanted to create something fun that I could use to celebrate birthdays with my friends and family, and also help me learn music for my piano lessons.

For this project, I used different features of the micro:bit. There are two buttons: A and B. When I press button A, the micro:bit plays the "Happy Birthday" song. I used the music blocks and tones to create the tune, carefully choosing each note so it sounds just like the real song. I enjoyed experimenting with the musical tones and learning how to make the melody play smoothly.

When I press button B, the micro:bit shows a special birthday message on the screen. First, it displays the words "Happy Birthday" using the show string block. Then, it shows a big heart icon, followed by a small heart icon, and finally the number seven, which is the age I picked for this project. I used the icons and numbers to make the display more colorful and meaningful.

I chose this project because I love music and I am learning to play the piano. Making the "Happy Birthday" tune helped me practice my musical skills and understand how songs are made. I also wanted to create something that would make people smile on their birthdays. I am proud of my project and happy to share it with you all. Thank you for listening!
