Los Angeles, California, is the second biggest city in the U.S. and a place where people can have fun, learn about culture, and use technology. Almost 4 million people live there. The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) is the second largest in the country, with over 430,000 students. Most students (about 84%) finish school, but only 30% to 50% of them are good at math and reading, especially in poorer areas. People all over the country know about schools like the Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies (LACES) and Granada Hills Charter. Kendrick Lamar and Leonardo DiCaprio are just two of the many notable individuals who grew up in Los Angeles. The city continues to strive for equitable access to education for all, but its size and diversity present challenges. Nevertheless, there are ongoing efforts to support students in achieving success.
