Elkhorn School at 10505 North Davis Road in the North Stockton area of Stockton, CA 95209 serves students in grades 4 through 8. The school enrolls about 270 students. The student–teacher ratio is 27:1. About 53% of students are male, and 47% are female. State testing shows approximately 89% of students are proficient in math and 98% in reading. Operating within the Lodi Unified School District, Elkhorn functions as a selective magnet campus with a Gifted and Talented Education framework that shapes both its admission structure and its daily academic pacing. Enrollment is not confined to a single neighborhood corridor, as students are drawn from across district boundaries through its magnet model rather than standard zoning. Detached homes in the surrounding North Stockton residential sections typically trade near $415,000, reflecting current market values in this part of the city. Elkhorn School is acknowledged as one of the best middle schools in California, consistently placing within the top 10 owing to its elevated proficiency levels. It specifically caters to students in both upper elementary and middle school grades.
