Edinburg is a rapidly growing city in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley, featuring more than 100,000 residents. It is surrounded by numerous suburbs and parks, making it an ideal place for a family life with a rich cultural diversity. Public education at the elementary level in Edinburg is provided by the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District. ECISD provides education to more than 30,000 children studying in the public elementary schools. Most of the schools score highly and achieve proficiency in meeting the standards of Texas state. There are also some schools that receive a high rating because of their good performance in academic areas. ECISD not only focuses on academics and diversity but on fine arts, athletics, and after school programs, too.
