Parma City School District serves approximately 5,075 elementary students across 12 public elementary schools in 2024–25, with a student–teacher ratio of about 18:1 and diverse demographics (~34% minority).Elementary proficiency rates are ~58% in reading and ~53% in math, slightly below Ohio averages of 59% and 54% . Title I-funded schools—including Pleasant Valley and Thoreau Park—receive targeted reading and math support through collaborative instructional programs.Notably, Pleasant Valley Elementary reports 75.8% math proficiency among third graders—well above district norms—but also increased chronic absenteeism (~20%) in 2022–23.Parma’s district rating is 3.5 stars overall, including full marks on gap-closing but lower marks in early literacy and graduation metrics.
