Pacific Grove is a coastal town of around 15,000 people on the tip of the Monterey Peninsula. Known as "Butterfly Town, USA" for the migrating monarchs, life here is quiet, deeply tied to the ocean, and very walkable. Younger kids go to schools in the Pacific Grove Unified School District, attending either Robert H. Down Elementary or Forest Grove Elementary.
The elementary schools focus on solid math and reading bases while taking full advantage of the coast with marine science and outdoor projects. Because it’s a tight, historic community, parents are heavily involved in everything from local youth sports to the annual Good Old Days festival. With its safe streets, beautiful ocean views, and great neighborhood parks, it is a very peaceful, supportive place to raise a family.
