Antioch, California, is a city of about 90,000 people in Contra Costa County in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is known for its low-cost housing and diverse community. There are about 19–21 elementary schools in the district, as well as some charter and private schools. The district focuses on core academics, social-emotional learning, and restorative practices. Some schools even have dual immersion programs that help students become bilingual and biliterate. The majority of the students are minorities, which is a reflection of the citys diverse culture.
