Mounting solar panels on the roof of a car to assist in charging its batteries is a concept that has been explored by various innovators and automotive companies. These solar panels can potentially provide supplemental power to the car’s electrical system, particularly for auxiliary functions such as air conditioning or charging electronic devices.

While the technology is promising, there are several considerations to keep in mind:

  1. Efficiency: Solar panels have limited surface area on a car roof, and the efficiency of converting sunlight into electricity is typically lower than stationary installations due to varying angles and shading. Thus, the amount of energy generated may not be substantial compared to the energy required to power a vehicle.
  2. Cost-effectiveness: The cost of solar panels, along with the additional engineering required to integrate them into the vehicle’s design, must be weighed against the potential savings in fuel costs or the environmental benefits. At current technology levels, the cost-effectiveness of solar panels on cars remains a challenge.
  3. Aerodynamics: The placement of solar panels on the car roof can impact aerodynamics, potentially increasing drag and reducing overall efficiency, especially at high speeds. Design considerations are necessary to minimize these effects.
  4. Weight: Solar panels add weight to the vehicle, which can affect handling, acceleration, and overall energy efficiency. Manufacturers need to balance the benefits of additional power generation against the drawbacks of increased weight.
  5. Durability and Maintenance: Car-mounted solar panels are exposed to harsh environmental conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and debris. Ensuring the durability of panels and their resistance to damage is crucial. Regular maintenance may also be required to keep the panels clean and functioning optimally.

Despite these challenges, ongoing research and development aim to improve the efficiency and practicality of solar-powered vehicles. As solar technology advances and becomes more affordable, we may see increased adoption of solar panels on cars, particularly for specific applications such as extending the range of electric vehicles or powering auxiliary systems. However, the widespread implementation of solar panels as a primary source of propulsion for cars is likely to remain a long-term goal rather than an immediate reality.

Market Point of Sale

The total amount of people with electric and hybrid cars in the US is at a  shocking height of 2.1 million. We hope to sell to about 1.5 million of these. For us or other people trying to solve the same problem, to pay for around 1 million car or customers, at minimum we would have to pay $23,300,000. At maximum people would have to pay $300,00,000. At average around $140,000,000. This is the cost of only raw material. The risk could be millions of dollars if we purchase all solar panels that we estimate. If the panels don’t sell fast enough either price will have to increase until we make more money then we would be losing. The price of one foot sq would be anywhere around $4 to $10. With anywhere from 20 to 30 sq feet. The lowest cost without the manufacturer would be around $100. At most it will be around $300. With manufacturing it will cost us. We want the solar panels to be accessible in many places. Places near the outdoors we will have a lot of them so it is easy to get because most of the usage of our product will be from the outdoors. We will also have it in complexes and large cities.

Why Should You support us

You should support us because it will help people save money and help the global pollution.
