I got the inspiration to create this project from experiencing the frustration of waiting at traffic lights with no traffic around. Seeing how this wasted time and contributed to environmental pollution, I was motivated to develop a solution using my robotics skills.

Working demonstration

The project works by using pressure sensors on streets to detect idle traffic, prompting the traffic lights to adjust their timings accordingly. This reduces waiting time at lights, decreases vehicle idling, and helps lower greenhouse emissions and pollution.
