Integers

Once upon a time, there was a curious girl named Lily who loved baking cookies. She had a special measuring tape that magically brought numbers to life. One day, the tape showed her a new kind of number called integers.

Lily imagined integers as tiny baking elves. The positive elves happily made cookies, while the negative elves playfully took cookies away. Zero, the leader of the elves, ensured a balanced kitchen.

Positive elves, like +1, +2, +3, etc., brought joy to Lily’s baking with each cookie they made. Negative elves, like -1, -2, -3, etc., played pranks by taking away cookies. Zero, the friendly leader, kept things fair when no cookies were made or lost.

LEARN MORE ABOUT Integers

Lily discovered that integers were like the elves’ emotions. Positive numbers showed happiness and growth, negative numbers showed challenges or decreases, and zero represented a neutral state.
Simply put, Integers are a type of numbers that we use to represent whole numbers and their opposites, including zero. In simple terms, integers are positive and negative whole numbers, as well as zero.
Examples of Positive Integers: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and so on are all positive integers.
Examples of Negative integers -1, -2, -3, -4, -5, and so on are all negative integers. They are like the opposites of positive integers.
Lastly, we have zero, which is neither positive nor negative. It represents the absence of quantity or value.
