Alex was surrounded by numbers of all shapes and sizes. The numbers were talking and laughing, and they seemed to be very happy.
“Hello,” said Alex. “Where am I?”
“You are in the Place Value Kingdom,” said a large number with a friendly smile. “I am King Place Value. What brings you to my kingdom?”
“I’m here to learn about place value,” said Alex. “But I’m having a hard time understanding it.”
“Don’t worry,” said King Place Value. “I can help you. Just follow me.”
King Place Value led Alex on a tour of the Place Value Kingdom. He showed Alex the Ones Place, the Tens Place, the Hundreds Place, and the Thousands Place. He also showed Alex the Decimals Place and the Fractions Place.
