Good luck! But before that let’s read a fun story.
Once upon a time, there was a young girl named Lily who loved math. She was especially good at addition. One day, Lily’s teacher taught her a new trick for adding numbers quickly and easily.
The trick was called “carrying over.” To carry over, you simply take the tens digit of the sum and add it to the next column. For example, if you are adding 23 and 17, the sum would be 40. You would carry over the 4 to the next column, and the final answer would be 57.
Lily was amazed by how easy it was to add numbers using carrying over. She practiced the trick all week, and soon she was able to add numbers faster than anyone else in her class.
