John and Shamarion Barber Middle School opened the 2025–2026 school year with renewed energy on August 14, 2025. Parents praised the campus staff for going above and beyond — providing extra tutoring, buying meals for students when needed, and maintaining a welcoming, well-run environment. Barber continues to be one of Dickinson ISD's most celebrated campuses for both academics and community spirit.
