FDNY Captain Vernon A. Richard High School for Fire and Life Safety celebrated its Class of 2025 with a graduation ceremony at the FDNY Fire Academy on Randall’s Island, marking the 18th class to complete the school’s rigorous program. Fourteen graduates will begin the FDNY Youth EMS Academy on June 30, continuing a pipeline that has already placed 108 alumni as firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics with the Department. The school recently expanded by absorbing the High School for Civil Rights and added new career pathways in cybersecurity with Cisco and law, giving students more options alongside fire and life safety training.
