Students have access to a school forest, which serves as an outdoor classroom for science lessons and encourages physical activity and a connection to the natural world. Volunteers from the community help to maintain the trails.
1. What special feature does Lakewood have in its physical education program?
Ans. Lakewood has recently added a sideways rock-climbing wall in its gymnasium to support physical education, while also providing students with experiences that promote fun, physical challenges, and strength-building.
2. What is the level of getting families involved in education and school culture at Lakewood?
Ans. There is an active Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), plenty of opportunities and options for family involvement, and good communication between staff and parents about school and education. "Family involvement opportunities throughout the year" is mentioned.
3. What is the kindergarten enrollment procedure like at Lakewood?
Ans. Kindergarten is completely free and a full-day experience. Children are eligible if they turn five years old on or before September 1. Each year, enrollment opens for kindergarten, and there are also family partnerships, meet & greet opportunities, supply lists for students, and a family process for kindergarten screening.
4. What enrichment or provision for after-school programs is there at Lakewood?
Ans. Lakewood provides after-school programs, enrichment options, media center options, outdoor education utilizing the school forest, physical activity options, and so on.

Ans. While aspects of specific intervention programs may not be emphasized in Lakewood, extensive resources for support, with many experienced teachers, standards-based instruction, quality educational experiences, and family engagement all work together to ensure every student has an opportunity to be successful regardless of their backgrounds.
