Alabama continues to improve its middle school education system, scoring an overall "B" (87) on the state report Cards and making measurable, consistent academic progress. There are over 1,000 middle schools in Alabama serving more than 717,000 students. Additionally, ELA (56.2%) and Mathematics (33.4%) proficiency rates continue to rise.
