At Sheppard Afb Elementary School this spring, students in upper grades began STAAR testing in reading and math as part of annual statewide assessments. Campus leaders scheduled the assessments over several days to reduce disruption to classroom learning and help students stay focused. The school also planned a “Purple Up Day” to honor military children, giving students a chance to wear purple and participate in base-wide activities. These events reflect the school’s continued engagement with its military community and learning goals this term.
