Being Updated
Alta Vista Elementary is celebrating a historic change as its students and staff get ready to move into the new Kendrick and South Waco campuses for the 2025–2026 school year. The school recently held a celebration for its 115th anniversary, which gave alumni from all over the world a chance to walk the halls and share memories one last time. This change is part of a big plan by the district to give students the best technology and learning spaces possible.
Q1. Does Alta Vista El have any special reading or literacy labs for students?
Ans. There is a separate literacy wing on campus where specialists work with small groups of students to help them improve their reading and phonics skills.
Q2. What are the rules for students at Alta Vista El about what to wear?
Ans. Students wear solid-colored polo shirts with khaki or navy pants as part of the district's dress code.
Q3. How can parents help out at Alta Vista El school events?
Ans. Before going on field trips or doing activities in the classroom, parents must do a background check every year through the district portal.
Q4. Is there an after-school program at Alta Vista El for families who work?
Ans. The school works with local groups to offer supervised after-school care that includes help with homework and exercise.
Q5. What kinds of technology do students at Alta Vista El have?
Ans. To make learning more interactive and tailored to each student, every student has their own digital device to use in class.
